Art Dinner Date Exercises

Art dinner date exercises are designed to help:
  • break the ice;

  • get to know each other a little better

  • re-kindle/ renew a long term relationship

  • learn a thing or 2 about building relationships (?!Whaaat?!)

  • make up after a fight

...Art heals, after all...

exercise # 1
Art Conversations - about 15 - 20 mins.

Talk is cheap! & pictures are worth 1000 words, as they say. This exercise gives you and your date an opportunity to communicate in silence, making a collaborative picture. Each of you takes turns drawing something on the paper, responding to the other's image or design. There is time at the end to discuss your "conversation" verbally.

Demo – 5 mins.

Exercise – 5 - 8 mins.

Talking points – 7 mins.

exercise # 2
Scribble Portraits - about 15 - 20 mins.
Observe your date closely as you draw them very quickly, sloppily, & expressively. Each of you takes turns posing for the other. This exercise offers you a chance to experience the humility necessary for a successful relationship. But don't panic! The humility required here is just that your portrait will probably not make you look like a movie star, nor a brilliant artist. But! It may reveal some authentic, charming aspect of yourself that your date will love. . . & vice versa.

Demo – 5 mins.

Exercise – 5 -10 mins.

Talking points – 5 mins.

exercise # 3

...Your subconscious revealed... Stay tuned for more info on this one...
