There are Black
Madonnas all over the world. Mine is inspired by the one in the book,
The Secret Life of Bees (by Sue Monk Kid), and by the research
I did for this painting, which revealed some fascinating facts. In my
painting, you can find influences from the madonnas from India,
Mexico, & Europe.
